Doing Business with CHEFA

As a Quasi-Public Agency, CHEFA is required to comply with the provisions of a number of state statutes that govern contracts with consultants and contractors.  Consultants and contractors doing business with CHEFA are considered to be “state contractors” and therefore must comply with the requirements of the following Public Acts:

  • PA 07-1 “An Act Concerning the State Contractor Contribution Ban and Gifts to State and Quasi-Public Agencies", and
  • PA 07-142 and PA 07-245 which prohibits discrimination based on civil union status and requires state contractors to provide benefits based on civil union status.

Contractors should also be aware that CHEFA has also adopted a "no gift" policy which prohibits gifts of any kind or value to either CHEFA as an entity or to any of its employees or board members.

Periodically CHEFA solicits a request for proposal (RFP) to select underwriters, bond counsel, special counsel, financial advisors, auditors and other consultants.  A list of currently-pending RFP's is available by clicking here.  ( online )
